“The wonder of this pathway,
Between people of all nations,
Is the friendship that is formed.
All share the same desire,
To reach their destination,
And pay homage to St. James.
For the wonders that we encountered on our pilgrim way.
And thank the Way for its call”

Today we woke up and prepared breakfast for the pilgrims and bid them farewell as they left on foot to continue their journey. Such a fun exchange with people from all over the world. It feels so great to meet them, hear about their travels, and connect with them as fellow pilgrims.
The day starts early around 6am, and once the pilgrims leave by 8am, the cleaning begins: laundry, cleaning the kitchen, floors, etc. Then we are free until 1pm when the next group of pilgrims are welcomed to arrive.
Today Kathleen and I took off for a walk to the next town, on the Camino trail, just to satisfy that call to walk. It’s a beautiful area of the world and fun to walk the trail and bit other pilgrims Buen Camino.

Sunday the market is closed, but tomorrow we will head out to town to do the shopping for food for ourselves as well as for the breakfasts we prepare for the outgoing pilgrims.
My thoughts: there is a lot of work to do here, but it’s not terribly difficult. Just time consuming. If and when we end up with a full Albergue (40 people) then it will become more difficult and managing everything in time, while balancing the needs of the pilgrims. So far I’m enjoying this experience!
