“We live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty, charm and adventure. There is no end to the adventures we can have if only we seek them with our eyes open.” – Jawaharial Nehru

What a wonderful 15 days I’ve had. I’ve met people on their journey to Santiago de a Compostella from all over the world. I’ve helped people who were injured continue on their path, met people who were going through their own emotional journey and received so much more than I gave.
Today I got a text with a photo of Mimi and Sandra as they arrived in Santiago. It makes me so happy to see them finally reach their goal, that didn’t look so good when they arrived with foot problems in the albergue.

I’ve spent the last two days just relaxing in the city of Leon. It’s one of my favorite cities in Spain and it’s a nice way to end my trip here. I’ve been reflecting on all the great moments meeting folks from everywhere: Japan, France, Italy, South Africa, Poland, Korea, China, USA, Germany, Belgium, Spain, and India and the list goes on. So many touched my life and I hope I touched theirs.

Lastly, I can’t summarize this trip without mentioning the experience I had with my co-Hospitalera, Kathleen. What an amazing person she is. She made this experience easy, fun, and relaxing. I know I’ve made a friend for life and hope we get to do this again together someday. It was a lot of fun because of her.

Let’s also not forget, my best friend here, Mr. Cafe con Leite ! Haha. I think I’ll miss him most of all.
My thoughts: I am so humbled I’ve had this opportunity to take the time to travel to Spain and be part of the Camino in a different way. It never goes unnoticed how truly lucky and fortunate I am to have these opportunities. I’m already planning my next adventure on the Camino, so stay tuned for more….
If you have ever thought about walking the Camino, or volunteering at an Albergue, I say do it. Life’s too short to sit still and not explore all it has to offer.
Signing off for now……
