Sept 14
The beauty of this area of Portugal and Spain can’t be captured in photos as well as the human eye. The people, the landscape, the smells, tastes all played into making this experience special.
Most importantly are the pilgrims. Those that chose to step out of their comfort zones and be uncomfortably comfortable. To walk on sore, tired feet and get up and do it again the next day. To be kind to each other in a way that just doesn’t compare to the outside world. To create a “family” that watches out for each other, gives you a hand when you need one, and celebrates with you when you’ve climbed “that hill”. It is this, that keeps us coming back for another journey. It is this that makes the trails of the Camino de Santiago unique.
For those of you who have followed me and feel the ‘tug’ to walk one of these trails, I say do it. It will change your life. You’ll meet perfect strangers who become your comrades, friends, and pilgrim family. You’ll listen to your heart and focus on what really matters in your life.
I’m so appreciative for this opportunity to once again walk this journey. I’m grateful for my Camino family from this journey and my last. Mike, Viola, Maggie, Belkys, Connie, Mark, and of course Luca, Christian, and Solange. You all have a special place in my heart. My Camino brothers and sisters.
I was able to greet Solange today at the Cathedral when she finished her journey. We hugged, cried, and then shared a nice dinner and celebratory sangria. It was a nice end to a wonderful experience.

Below is the link to a video of my trip. It includes photos you might not have seen, and of course uses several of the songs I listened to along “the Way”.

Thanks again for following me along my journey. I hope you have the opportunity to experience something as life changing on your own Camino.
